In
1973 I "joined" the dog world with a Saint Bernard. I went on to breed
and exhibit Saint Bernards in both the U.S. and Canada; in conformation and obedience.
I apprenticed at Shagg Bark Kennels (Connecticut) for four years. While there,
I learned volumes about breeding, type, movement and temperament. This knowledge
has given me a solid foundation with which to maneuver in any breed of dog. I
purchased my first Dachshund in 2001; he was such a delight that I decided that
one just wasn't enough, so, I bought 3 more. However, in 2004, I was bitten by
the "show bug" so, I purchased CopperCreek's Kachina Kid, MW from Karen
Worden and the rest, as they say, is history! I'm
a member of the following club: National
Miniature Dachshund Club Desert Valley
Dachshund Club
Kachina
Miniature Dachshunds is dedicated to the ideal of quality miniature dachshunds
that are bred for temperament and conformation. To that end, I plan every breeding
with the goal of producing puppies that not only meet the breed standard but who
will also make loving pets for those who do not wish to enter the conformation
ring. I adhere to the American Kennel Club's position that any puppy sold as a
companion will be sold with a limited registration. Look
for Kachina Miniature Dachshunds in the show ring handled by Marietta Singleton.
